Graphic design and Print preparation are so often understood to be the same thing and they are not. Preparation for print is generally laborious and anything but creative. It is the meticulous study of a print file to ensure every aspect of the artwork is ready for litho printing preparation. If the job is printed is CMYK, are there any stray RGBs or Pantones that need conversion, are the fonts converted to paths, correct bleed, etc. The list goes on, but its an intricate and essential cog in a studio to produce perfect print.
